Start a Ride in Your City

Are you inspired by the Katie Ride for Life mission? If so, join the movement and host a Ride for Life in your city. Read the information below for details.

The Katie Ride for Life is dedicated to educating more people about the importance of organ donation and how it can save lives. If you are interested in starting a “Ride for Life” in your community, there are several steps you need to take to determine whether partnering with us and setting up an event is right for you.

The first step is to contact us to make sure there is not already someone starting a “Ride for Life” in your area. If there isn’t and you would like to apply to start a ride, please be sure you are willing to commit to do the following:

• determine local courses, dates, management and volunteer teams
• determine if you want to add a 5K and 10K walk also
• talk with your local city management to make sure they will agree to having this event in your town
• organize, set up and administer all promotion, registration and event-day details
• work with us on using our logo, marketing materials and public relations

If you decide to proceed, our national office will provide you with all of the education, information, marketing tools and support you need to set up and run a successful “Ride for Life” event. Funds raised by your event will go towards organ donation education in your community as well as supporting our national efforts to save more lives through organ donation.
